I love the 30th anniversary Camaros. The white/orange stripe combo looks great and the design of the stripes really compliments the car. I love the white leather too.

I love the 97 Camaro's

I have a 1997 White annv the seats say it buts its all white and the hardtop is black. As long has its a 1997 im happy. My opinion 1997 was the best year. Last and good year of the LT1 Motor, last year front end, first year of the new dashboard and first year of the new rear lights. I am planning on putting stripes on it but at night without the stripes the white shines better.

No, not all 1997 Camaro's are 30th Anniversary cars. Only with RPO Z4C, do you get a 30th Anniversary Model. Just like every 02' isn't a 35th Anniversary model.....

How many times do we have to beat a dead horse!!!

You clearly do not understand what the word "Anniversary" means.

anniversary n. pl. -ries The yearly return of the date of an event that happened in an earlier year.
Therefore, All 1968 Camaro's are 2nd anniversary cars. All 1969 Camaro's are 3rd anniversary cars. All 1972 Camaro's are 5th anniversary cars. All 1987 Camaro's are 20th anniversary cars, etc. etc. etc.
My 1997 Camaro as well as your 1997 Camaro have 30th embroidered into the head rest. This cost GM money, and should be obvious to anyone, that it was done to celebrate Camaro's 30th Anniversary.
As well as the embroidering GM desided to produce a limited "special addition' Camaro in orange and white. Unfortunately in their advertizing they called these "30th Anniversary Camaro's" which of course they are. However doing this does not exclude the rest of the 1997 Camaro's.

Now, this has nothing to do with the "morality" of refering to your "regular" Camaro as a "30th Anniversary" in a sales ad or cloning one to fraudulently increase the value.
It also has nothing to do with the general understanding within the Camaro community that you only refer to the orange and white Camaro's as "30th Anniversary Camaro's".

You are correct in noting that the Z4C RPO code designate a "special model". Kind of like "all dromedaries are camels, but not all camels are dromedaries."

GM always refered to the white/orange '97 and the red/silver '02 as the "Anniversery Edition" when they should have really refered to them as "Anniversery Limited Edition."

If you have a '97 Camaro, you can certainly say you have a 30th Anniversary Camaro, but you can't say it is a 30th Anniversary Edition Camaro and be correct.

However, I gotta admit though... it's annoying seeing people saying their car is a 30th Anniversary Camaro when it's just a '97 run of the mill Camaro. Particularly if you're on ebay searching for something and it pulls up a bunch of stuff that doesn't relate.

It's sort of like saying you have a 10th Anniversary wife instead of just saying you have a wife. Now... if your wife had stripes and the correct RPO... it'd be a different story.

That's funny! I actually thought about using the wife as an example.
Try telling your wife it's not your 10th anniversary because she's not the "special edition", and see how long you live.

My car does not have 30th embroidered into the headrest. Only the 30th Anniversary models have that embroidered in color on the headrests. All other 97 Camaro's have it stamped into the seat cover. But I have also seen 97's that do not have the 30th logo on the headrest. Z4C refers to 30th Anniversary models, nowhere will you find Z4C referred to as "special edition". Direct from the GM 93-02 F-body parts manual, and from the GM RPO code database, Z4C designates a 30th Anniversary model.

Go tell someone you have a 7th or 13th or 31st anniversary Camaro, and they are gonna look at you funny, or maybe call you names......

Now that I look at your location, I've seen you on 528 a couple of times in the afternoon, car looks great......

I certainly can understand the guys with the special edition cars getting upset. But it really is just semantics.
Mine has been down for a while, and there is another white one in the area. So it may be that one you've seen, if it was recently. I'm currently driving a white 2006 GMC extended cab pickup with a black bra on the front. You are the guy that turns by the HEB, right? Hope to have the 97 back on the road by mid summer.

It's been a while since I've seen you on the road, a year at least. The couple of times I saw you or the other guy was in the evenings on 528 headed toward Bay Area from I45.

It might of been me, the only time I'm by that HEB on 528 is if I'm going to Lunas. There was a younger (early 20's) girl in Friendswood that had a black 97 Z28 vert, but I think she sold it. The last time I saw it someone else was driving, and it had some god-awful VatoZone accessories.

You got a good memory. I loned it to my son after his Nissan died, and when I got it back itwas broken.
Doh!! Just remembered the HEB guy has a coupe not a vert. I remember the girls car, seen it many times.
Hopefully when I'm done with mine it will be easily recognizable and yet still tasteful. Fingers crossed.

Got-a love this one. https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=585090

Had to look to see if it was orange and white, or not.
