Question for someone who owns a 30th Anni Z28

Are the hood vent inserts painted orange, or are they wrapped separately from the rest of the stripes?

I just saw a 30th anniversary SS here in Cody that looked exactly like yours, and it appeared the inserts are orange, but I think the guy had the fake extractors cut open.

Not to good of a move I thought, as imo the 30th and 35th Anniversary Camaro's should remain a mod virgin.

I'm relatively sure they're painted orange and not vinyl like the rest of the stripes.

Here's a picture of the hood scoop on my car. My scoop surrounds are painted orange and the vinyl stripe is cut to fit around the scoop. There's a fake carbon fiber insert.

As you may be able to see, the vinyl is a bit ragged as it meets the scoop. My car is a very low-mileage car (less than 10K). I have been thinking about painting the stripes and covering them with clearcoat.

Thanks for that information!

It's now VERY obvious why the aftermarket 30th Anni stripes look so poor on the cars; it's not because the stripe kit is incomplete, it's because the owners aren't painting the vents.

To OP: Thats my car I just went outside and looked and they are indeed painted. Here's a couple pics, you can see that the stripe itself is looking pretty ****ty, but the vent piece still looks decent.

This has been discussed many times. All 97's are 30th Anniversary Camaro's. But the "special" orange and white ones are most often the only ones refered to as 30th Anniversary. So most of the time when you see some one say they have a 30th Anniversary Camaro, it will be an orange and white one.

And those of us with the white/orange heritage edition cars are snobs and don't like it when the rest of the 1997 Camaro owning public calls their cars anniversary editions.

Seriously...we don't like it.

Not to hijack, but where to get replacement stripes for a real Heritage car?

if I drove an aniversary edition camaro, It'd be because of what it is not because of its looks. I wouldn't go out of my way to replicate the looks of one
