Joined the board so I could post in this thread! I'm a new owner as of Christmas day, when I was gifted my father-in-law's '97 30th Anniversary SS. She was his daily driver until about a year ago. Garage-kept, meticulously maintained. 178k but she doesn't seem to let it phase her one bit.

Just finished up installing the lowering kit and new brakes. Undercoated the car too.

Re: Post your high mile 4th gen :p

I had 210609 on my 94 Z28 A4 on the night of its (temporary) demise.

It only had 2 optis it's entire life (one was a used one bought off the boards here). Synthetic oil every 4k miles since I bought it at 93k in 1999. The coated pacesetter shorties still looked new(ish), and she still pulled down 19 to the gallon on my commute back and forth to work.

I'll be posting some before and after pics on another thread. Really doing some soul searching on whether or not to fix the old gal.

Re: Post your high mile 4th gen :p

My baby just died with 234,000 on her Blown head gasket. Water pump went out, replaced it. Car wouldnt start, Water got into opti, replaced it, car misfired on start up, replaced bad ignition coil, car ran fine but over heated in 5 minutes. Found water leak, but to late. Pushing exhaust into the radiator, and water just mixed into the oil. Parked it for now until i get time/money to bring it back to life.

Heres a link to what ive brought that car back from.

Re: Post your high mile 4th gen :p

Haven't had my 99Z in my driveway for almost 2 years. I'm letting my Mother use it until she can get something else. When I was at her house last week, it had 227,000 on it.
It's mostly stock, been repainted (due to my wife wrecking it in 01 and massive hail damage in 03) the paint sucks, peeling all over, and where it's not peeling, there re bubbles under clearcoat. The interior is pretty much as you'd expect for 13 year old plastic. The upper dash is just gone, the leather seats are torn and ripped.
It's been a good car over all though.
I replaced the front rotors years ago with vatozone "amicos" and no further problems. The water pump was just replaced, and of corse belt, hose, brakes, tires.
If I keep it, I really need to rebuild suspension, as it's still all original, lol
