Painting interior----need help.
I need a little bit of help boys. I am painting some of the interior parts on my Red Camaro and I need to know what you guys think. I will probably do either red or silver, if anyone has pics, that would be great! If you want to suggest another color, or vote on one go for it. I tried painting 1 piece and the paint just kinda dripped off, so if you know a certain type/color at Autozone or Walmart or whereever, please let me know!!!! Thanks!

hey man, i did this last summer and it runed out great.
I have a blue 94 Z28. I painted the side platis by the handles blue ans silver and the air vents blue, i likes the 2 tone my self
1. you must remove the peices, wash them in a mild detergent. Let dry
2. Next you have to sand the peices down smooth, get the texture off
3. as soon as it is smooth wash it again in the mild detergent
4. next is to primer the peices. i used basic primer and touch up spray paint from any auto parts store
5. after about 3 coats of primer then you can add the first of about 2 or 3 coats of the color.
6. after that i added 2 coats of clear to protect it
Patience is the entire key to the job, taking time for each light coat to dry. I love the way mine turned out
, ask more questions if ya got em

ExMustangOwner, thats a ton what I would like it to turn out like. If ANYONE can tell me what a good brand of paint is it would be most appreciated. So buy a primer, then an actual paint, then a clear coat, got it. How lightly should each coat be, and how long should each sit for while drying? Thanks for the help boys!

I used dupli color paint on my interior. I went to the local paint store and gave them the paint code for my car and they had bottles of that paint color in stock. Also, make sure you buy a can of adhesive that makes paint stick to plastic, otherwise it'll never stay. I put 5 coats of paint on and 4 coats of clear coat. Pics are in the sig, mine's a 96 interior.
Also, don't worry about coating the entire piece on the first couple coats, you don't want to spray too much on or it will drip and end up looking bad. I waited about an hour or so between each coat.

Yeah I used duplicolor from AutoZone. Buy at least 3 cans of color, primer, and clear when you go. It takes alot more paint than you think it would.
I went with 3 coats primer, 5 color, and 5 clear. Maybe excessive but doesn't hurt. I just waited 30min between each coat but it was also sunny out and like 100degrees. Watch out for bugs and dust particles! They really mess things up when it's drying.

I used PLASTI-KOTE Vinyl Color, and I bought it at pep boys. Works great and look good if applied well. You don't need to prime it and and you don't need clear coat IMO. Be sure to apply several coats and start off light. I used flame red color 420.

I used sand paper on mine to get them to look smooth. Some people just paint them so they look factory.well here's pic's of mine.
