i am trying to make my
Gotta say, I'm really not sure where you think you're getting all the items you need for $2000. You would have at least $1200 in hood/spoiler alone after paint. And that's assuming you get knock-offs and not the real thing. Second, wheels/tires, agian knock-offs, are still going to be at least $1500 for the set. So right there you're at $2700. Now you want a front end conversion? Not sure what two fenders and a front clip is going for, but I'll bet after paint it's more than another $1000. Not including all the mounting hardware necessary to make the conversion. Oh, and this would be assuming you're putting all this on yourself. You can add another $1000 in labor if you're having the body shop install this stuff.
Just a little reality check:
SS Hood (GM): $1270
SS Hood (eBay): $500
SS Spoiler (GM): $550
SS Spoiler (eBay): $350
'02 Fender set (GM): $520
'02 Fender set (eBay): $400
'02 SS Wheels (GM): $960
'02 SS Wheels (eBay): $400
Tires (TireRack): $1000
I used GMPartDirect.com for the GM prices and the lowest eBay auction "Buy It Now" price for eBay. The wheels are silver painted, add a couple hundred if you want chrome. All the prices included an approximate shipping cost as well. So, just some quick math here, it's about $4300 with GM parts, before paint/installation. You need to figure about another $1500 or so just for that. Probably closer to $6000 after all is said and done.
Now, you may want to cheap out. Just remember I took the absolute cheapest prices I could find and I would NEVER order from any of these guys on eBay, but here goes nothing. I get about $2250 for parts from eBay. Again, you still need to figure on about $1500 in paint/installation. So you're at about $3750, probably closer to $4000 with all the little stuff that comes up when doing a project like this.
The way I see it, you can't get an '02 SS look-alike for less than $4000. And that would be with extremely questionable parts. If you went to more reputable vendors, expect to pay somewhere between the eBay and GM price for parts. However, the paint and installation costs don't change.
Of course, all this begs the question, if you know you can get all the parts for $2000, why are you asking us, and where are you buying your parts???
Now, if you lowered(?) your sites a little and actually went out and looked at buying a '98 SS (looks exactly the same), then you might be able to pull one off for around $10,000. Then you would have the look and the power. Just a thought.

WWWWHHHYYYYY
I am actually having my whole front end replaced because of a accident. I have a 97 Z and i thought about putting an LS1 front end on the car but i didn't... WHY?? because it isn't an LS1
I also thought about putting an SS hood ( 97SS ) but i didn't... WHY??? because it isn't an SS. Why would you want to make your car look like something it isn't???
performance wise there is a huge gap between an LS1 SS and a V6. He!! There is a huge gap between an LT1Z and an LS1SS
Now its your money and you can do what you want. But i just want to know why you would want to do something like this?? do you want everyone to think you have an SS???? I’m sorry but to me it just isn't right. i feel you should just save your money. You could use it to put an LT1 in you car.
I don’t' think it was a good idea to start the post here BC you going to get a lot of negative replies.. sorry

cant the guy just have a nice lookin car? maybe we should all just calm down, its his money his car his desire, let him be. if he asks for help give it to him if u have some, dont just tell him its a bad idea just my .02 cents, but then again i drive a v6 too
he doesn't even deserve a V6 Camaro much less a '94 version of a '02 SS
so I simply advised he get a Mustang because that's what he deserves...he'd fit right in with all the pathetic V6 Mustang members wishing they were something else...
Does that clear it up a bit?

I think he should do what he wants. And if anybody ask if it's an ss he can always say no it's a v6 with an ss hood and ss spoiler. I must have missed the part where he said he was going to put the badges on also. Stuff like that doesn't bother me to much it only bothers me when they say that it's an SS for example when it really isn't.
right
its not gonna be that bad at least i am gonna hav a little bit of power with my supercharged v6 inder the hood of my ss look alike with the 200 front conversion and ss hood and spoiler. Any ways i got in a accident today i backed up into a moving van lol! so the back right quarter panel is really bad it was estimated at $2600 dollars! lol way too much i only paid 3700 for my car. but at least i got my check from my first accident when some one side swiped me there insurance company gave me $667 today wut should i do with that money? hook up my car with some more parts i already bought headers, exhaust, shift kit and msd ignition. wut parts should i get or should i but the ss parts to start makin it look like one?
You supercharged a 3.4L?
Well hell!
Why didn't you say your V6 has boost from the start??
In that case - go nuts.
If you have the power to back up the looks.
At least when the first person pulls up to you and says - "All show and no go?" You can put their mouth away.

....the guy paid 3700 for the CAR and now he thinks he is going to get a whole 02 ss front end, hood, spoiler, paint, wheels, tires, suspension(?), whatever else he plans to get AND a supercharger if they even make one for the 3.4
its just a little kid with his first car and big dreams...we've all been there (although i wasnt quite as extreme)...give him a year of saving and a few pointless mods then he'll total it or sell it...there's your reality checkbtw: you would be surprised how close z28 insurance can be to v6 insurance...
