Re: hood vents

Why not just get a hood scoop or something?

Re: hood vents

This idea sounds really tacky. I'm not sure this is something that can pulled off or considered an improvement at all. The equivalent of a '67 Corvette style hood on a Corvette C6.

Just get some stripes; Camaros look beautiful with stripes if you get the proper ones and people won't make negative remarks about your car.

Re: hood vents

Then buy an SS hood with a REAL hood scoop.

Using 3M tape to stick a phony hood scoop on a Camaro (or any car for that matter) is a travesty.

It's your car, and if you have your heart set on a fake scoop and some tape, and a bunch of chrome, no one can stop you. But people are just trying to tell you its not going to look very good to 99% of the Camaro world.

Re: hood vents

if anything just get a cheap SS hood, if the lines of the hood dont match very well since you have a black car they wont show much, plus Maaco will paint a hood for well under $100 with clear coat. Also you could get a carbon Fiber SS hood and just not paint it all. An SS hood is defintly a great appearance upgrade.

Re: hood vents

I just looked into it, and I don't even know where you can find the SLP RS style stripe kit, or a reproduction online. Every website I looked at had terrible looking stripes for the base/Z28 hood, OR they had a picture of a '97 30th anniversary Z28 in the '98-'02 section. No wonder this guy didn't just do my suggestion.

The closest I found was this, and just being completely honest... the hood stripes are absolutely horrible looking.

Where can you even find a kit like this anymore?
