Re: hood vents

The 82-84 Z28 hood louvers are not a single piece.

Re: hood vents

I tell any and everyone this when it comes to appearance mods. If you like it and think it looks nice, go for it. Don't let the next guy discourage you just because it isn't his cup of tea, to each his own. Appearance mods on cars are a mobile form of self expression, so do your thing

I have thought about doing some on my black hood, too- lower temps are better for everything under the hood.

I'm sure you didn't mean that these are 32 individual pieces/louvers!! GM would NEVER do that. The pict. of the back of this hood clearly shows that these are 2 complete assemblies.

Re: hood vents

I've had a bunch of 3rd gen Z28's and Iroc-Z's (currently still have an 87 Iroc)and the louvers are a single piece. The louvers are bolted into the hood.

Read the entire thread, and you will know exactly what I meant. He said it was a single piece in the middle of the hood. In fact, it is two pieces in the middle of the hood.

Is it clear now?

Re: hood vents

my plan was to use just one louver.those would not work for me,they are built in to the hood. what i want is a single louver[fake!not functional] with 3m tape.found some on another site. they are 16 in long 5in wide i could use one or both.still looking also they are only 1 in high and is the low profile i am looking for. oh weel i like shopping for my car.
