red LED interior lights

Bought red LED interior lights i was gonna put in the footwell on the front passenger and driver sides.. after i bought, and opened i found out that they weren't the kind you plug into lighter area..they're ran off of 10 button style (laser pointer batteries) in them.. anyone know how i could change the battery style so they're ran off of the car battery and not batteries i'de have to replace probably every 2 hours?

Re: red LED interior lights

you'll have to figure out what voltage they are and then find a power cord that would supply that voltage and then wire that power cord into the lights, almost all small electronics like cell phones, ipods, & gps units are 5 volts, and almost all car accesories like lights are 12 volts. if the 10 button batteries are all in 1 line then the voltage would be 15 volts (assuming each battery is 1.5 volts, that info should be stamped on top each battery) if the batteries are in 2 stacks side by side then the voltage would be 7.5 volts, read this article to understand how to calculate voltage from mutiple batteries.

or it might just say on the package what voltage the lights are.
