Talking Hella FF75 conversion DONE!!!

UPDATE 1/28 @ 7PM Ok, today I've visited 2 Walmarts that did not have the capability to put film on CD (bastards ). I also called every film developing business in the phone book and they all had to mail off the film to have it put on CD (bastards ). I even tried Target and their machine was broke also (Bastards! ). Anyway, the original Walmart has parts being delivered tomorrow so hopefully I'll have everything tomorrow night

I finally installed my FF75s yesterday and took quite a few pics as I went along. Installation was pretty easy and straightforward, just time-consuming. I started on the install around 5pm and didn't get done until shortly after midnight...aiming the lights took me almost an hour! I also took a break to run to WalMart and another to eat dinner.

The difference in the FF75s and the stock headlights is unreal!! I installed everything at my parents house which is out a dark, narrow, curvy road that usually requires my high beams to be able to see the road well. Not so with the new lights!! The low beams were more than enough for me to see where I was going with ease!

94BlackBowtie, I have about a roll and a half of pics from the install that I planned on having online today. Unfortunately when I dropped the film off at WalMart today they told me their scanning machine is down...hopefully it'll be back up and running soon and I will post pics just as soon as I can get them back!

Also, I didn't plan ahead well enough...it was daylight when I started so I don't have any stock pics to compare to the fininshed product

Will do. The only thing I'm missing is some good daytime shots. I was going to take a couple this morning before I dropped off the film but it's snowing here now I took a couple shots anyway though.

Good Deal...

Hey man, that's great! Let me know when you get the pics...you can e-mail me or whatever...just keep me informed. Congrats on the engagement BTW...I am pretty recently married.

But I am glad that you finally got a chance to install those things! I felt bad that I got mine installed before you . So the Cuzo's are pretty good eh? May have to try those after the Luks 100w clears...

Later Brian.

Did you use stock wiring for the low beams?

Dalton,
How are the Luks 100W's???
Also, do you get the FF75's at AutoZone or Adv Auto Parts or where?
Lastly, where can you get the Cuzo's cheap?

Sounds like the FF75's are getting popular!
Josh, I don't know what Brian/silver97z did, but I just used the stock wiring and spliced the H7 harness into it. You should know that I have a 30 amp relay though installed already. What did you do exactly Brian? Did you use the relay that some with the FF's?

Meef - sorry man, I haven't got a chance to install the Luks bulbs yet. I know you are waiting on me to so you will know what to do with yours, but I just haven't had time yet. I haven't really thought about it Jay, but if you want to make a deal with me, I have a set of Showoff 100w Krypton Purple 9005's and some 9005 wiring harness ends that I was running in my stock housings. If you want to give them a shot, e-mail me or hit me up on AIM tomorrow sometime. I know you are interested in the Luks though. I got my Hella's at Advance finally after going in and smacking them around and telling them my buddy in WV got them at Advance for $20 cheaper a set ($59.98) at than what they were selling them!

Yes, I used the stock wiring and spliced in a 30 amp relay and the H7 harnesses on the low beams and high beams. Unfortunately, I forgot to keep taking pics when I was doing the wiring, but that is pretty straightforward with a little explanation (Thanks Dalton!)

I got the FF75s at Advance...$59.88/pair. The Cuzos are not cheap...I only bought one pair for the low beams, I'm still running the Hella 55w bulbs in the highs. I wanted to see how the Cuzos would work before I bought bulbs for the highs. I got the Cuzos for $28.88 from ProLightStar.com I was very impressed with them...bulbs were delivered in about a week...from CA to WV!

Are you using the 55W bulbs that came with the lights in the lows? If so why wouldn't you just use the stock wiring without the relay??

No, the Cuzo bulbs are 100w.

Relay

Can I wire in the lows without the relay? What does it do exactly? I plan on running just the 55w in the lows and then run the relay with 100w for the highs. I didn't think I would need the relay with just the standard wattage bulbs, but want to make sure that would be fine.

No, if you are going to stay with the 55w bulbs in the lows then you won't have to wire in the relay. I went ahead and wired it for the highs because I will be upgrading them soon as well.
