I understand that, my post was more in reference to the ebay auction.

Re: Flared fenders?????????

there is a reason for that, it cost A LOT of money and WORK to do this although it looks pretty simple, i am friends with the guy that works at GMMG and we actaully talked about this today. All these guys claming they can get it done for pretty cheap....

x1million

I think if someone actually came up with a mold or a way to do it they could make money hand over fist. Hell just look at how much interest is in this thread alone! Only problem is getting it right on the car and making a mold.

I think the guy that came up with a price of 15k to make the whole thing is pretty high. Even with doing the doors. The doors and bumpers would be alot easier to do since the doors are already fiberglass and you have the fenders to mold off of.

I want to see a non GM/GMMG car with these things. Until I do I doubt it can be done feasibly.

Re: Flared fenders?????????

I know it wouldn't be as good as metal flares, but what about buying those "bolt-on" fender flares and using bondo/fiberglass to make them "seamless"...?

I'm with you. I think that would work. A good shop and work miricles without breaking the bank.

Re: Flared fenders?????????

I suppose that could work but it'd take more than just making them seamless. You would need to fiberglass the whole thing and shape it or else you'd just have a set of seamless jeep fenders.

Out of all of the ways I have ever heard of doing it that sounds like the best since atleast you have a solid sarting point. That is unless GMMG finally caves and just makes them!

Re: Flared fenders?????????

Should get American Sports car design to make them, there is a thread on LS1tech about someone wanting to make them. its like 22 pages or something

I"m sure spectre werkes would make them for a nominal fee

Re: Flared fenders?????????

I think a set of C3 Corvette fenders would be a good starting point. Grind them down to fit the contour of the Camaro fender and then fiberglass the perimeter to make it seamless. Maybe a little easier than fabbing up two fenders from scratch and having to worry about getting both sides to be identical in symmetry.
