honestly, it took me around 7 hours. that was not really constant though. I had peopel working on my house, so i figured i would make my time at home useful and clean up the NASTY alternator! i used the dremel to get all the rough castings and pores from the case. then i think i started with 320-400-600-800-1000-1500-2000-rubbing compound-Aluminum polish. Somewhere in there i also used a green scotchbrite pad...it was a pain in the but. if i had to do it afain i would use a high speed grinder rather than a dremel, and i would use a buffing and polishing wheel to get the fine stuff out of there.

I got the part # for the 96 LT1 Corvette fuel rail covers for you guys who are interested..

LEFT Fuel Rail - 10208794
RIGHT Fuel Rail - 10208795

However I'm little confused about something...
You can do a search on the site.. you choose the company first (Chevrolet) then it gives you three options.. Year, Model and Engine. For a 96 Corvette under the LT1 engine the fuel rail covers are like $21 each.. but for the LT4 the fuel rail covers are $46.. but they only show pictures for the LT1.. so I don't know what the difference is Anyone know?

The LT4 fuel rail covers have the CORVETTE painted red rather than the whole cover being grey.

Here you go.

Engine Pic 2

Most of the polished pieces (ie Radiator support, Battery & Fusebox covers, Brake res. cover, and MAP senosr cover) were made by myself. If interested just let me know.

Thats one sweet engine bay you have.

Mine was super clean until the car kind of overheated one day and the reservoir top poped off and you can guess what happend to the engine bay.
