Carbon fiber doors
The carbon fiber is covered in resin, so it's not like the paint would be laid down directly on the fiber. I can't imagine the resin for C/F is much different than fiberglass resin. I doubt primer has any harder time sticking to scuffed C/F resin than it does F/G resin.
I used some fiberglass resin and it had a yellow tint to it after it hardened.
Well, I can tell you that I picked up my fiberglass hood with one hand and not a whole lot of effort. I can't imagine a C/F hood weighing so much less that it justifies over a thousand dollars.
where did you get your fiber glass hood for your 93 and how much was it ?
thanks,
chris
Ive been thinking about getting a cf hood and berger panel for mine. I think the 2 would compliment each other and look nice. The hood I've been looking at is a cowl induction and its around 800. Still cf doors would prob look like ****
Corvettes have carbon fiber on them and they aren't ricey

You'd get more value for your money if you took the $1000 you'd spend on a CF hood and bought a tubular K member and fiberglass hood. And you'd still have enough money left to pay someone to paint it.

I am so tired of hearing about carbon fiber is rice, the rice word is so played out, look at the imports now compared to the fast and furious days, they are tasteful with small body mods, lowered, wheels, and performance mods, they look like any other modded car, but put a carbon fiber hood on it and its rice, give me a freakin break, carbon fiber was used on race cars well before the Import scene, they just embraced it, a little too far some times, but now just because an import used it, I am supposed to call a $500k race car, or the ZR1, or a lambo, porsche, audi, ect., Rice? Carbon fiber is a sexy material, its strong if designed and structured correctly, I have a CF hood and love it, I get a lot of compliments on it, never had one bad one, even at the 50's cruise it with all 50 year old and up people, they all wanted to know what it was and how awesome it looked. Lay off the rice crap or I am going to start calling every camaro running the same ZR1 or Z06 wheels, cowl hood, ss spoiler CORN, get your own style, just because people like 90% of ls1tech people all have the same looking cars and your not allowed to venture away from the same boring look, does not mean you can't buy all the Carbon parts you want. I did not read this whole post, just commenting on the first rice post, it instantly pissed me off.
