Carbon fiber doors
I see no point for those parts!!
Now if they made a door for my 71 camaro that I could have glass windows in that would be worth something!!
But not for a forth Gen.
And that's all the parts he has doors an fenders.
What he should make is the rear header panel that might look cool.
The piece that says CAMARO.

That's exactly why i was asking why they would be needed. it's not like our doors are metal so the weight savings would be close to nothing for $1000? that would pay for some nice performance mods instead of "weight savings"
The only advantage would be the cool carbon fiber look, but on a door that would just look retarded..
mknabz28- nothing against you..i'm sure someone is interested haha

Wouldn't surprise me if they did. For as long and wide as they are, that doesn't seem too bad. Now, I wonder if that 60 pound figure is for a bare door or one with the window and lock hardware inside.
On LS1tech, there was a thread about posting pics of your car at Papa Johns when Papa Johns gave out free pizza, and there was a LS1 Camaro with almost all carbon fiber bodywork with a pizza box on the hood. If someone interested wants to search, they should be able to find it. I believe 6litereater started the topic over there and it was probably in the Appearance forum.
Post pics when you find them.

I really doubt this guys claims of weight savings. Especially the fenders. The stock fenders are already composite.
No unless you're into the rice scene, which i dont think a lot of camaro drivers are. Fiberglass hoods are almost as good and less expensive to make.

I don't think a Camaro with 100% carbon fiber body panels would be ricey at all. Doing only the hood or the doors or something wouldn't be ricey. It'd be trashy in most cases.
I'd love to see somebody with carbon fiber front and rear bumpers, Berger panel, spoiler, hatchback, roof cap, doors, mirrors, rear quarters, front fenders, and hood. It'd be really cool.
The Callaway C12 nicknamed Inky Blue (it had blue dye in the clearcoat) had all carbon fiber panels and wasn't ricey.

If the carbon fiber doors really weigh so little, I don't see anything wrong with getting them and then painting them. Not painting them would look dumb unless the entire car was carbon fiber. Ferrari paints carbon fiber all the time, so it's been done a lot.

The carbon fiber is covered in resin, so it's not like the paint would be laid down directly on the fiber. I can't imagine the resin for C/F is much different than fiberglass resin. I doubt primer has any harder time sticking to scuffed C/F resin than it does F/G resin.
