Bit of info wanted for a UK chap with not much knowledge...yet!
Hi all, already introduced myself elsewhere in this forum.
Anyway, looking at ideas for a Camaro Z28 Gen 4 that I want to bring over to England sometime in the future.
Just want to know a few things.
Who makes these lovely bumper extensions for this? Do they have a name? Are they expensive?
This example looks fantastic

Also, the rear lights on this car. Not standard are they? Can you buy tinted rear lights or do you have to do it using that nasty spray tint stuff?

Thanks guys
Yeah, I guess you have different names for things. What you call 'fender' we call 'bumper'.
So the little extensions are always called 'ground effects'? Or is that just the name 'Wings West' give them?

As for the taillights, those are just dark covers, made by companies like GTS and Auto Ventshade. Do a Google search for either to get their websites. You should be able to order directly from them.

That is just the typical name for any extension around the base of the body. There are mabye 10 different styles to choose from on the LT1 style (93-97). RKSport has 3 of them (maybe 2), Wings West ahs a couple, etc.
On a side note, this thread is awesome. I can't read it without a British accent. Makes me feel like I'm in a pub. Welcome to the boards!! Post more often, we don't have too many 'chaps' overseas!

Thanks for the information. I'll have a look round and see what I can come up with. Some nice pictures would be good.
What tends to be most people's favourite type of body kit accessory then for the gen4's? When eventually I do buy a Camaro, I want a ground effects kit, some 18" split rims, or dished wheels, those smoked rear clusters (car has to be a Z28 T-tops though). Some Eibach springs (have them fitted to my Vauxhall Astra).
Anyway, I'm rambling on a bit here, so I'll shut up.

You're well on track Simon.
If you like ground effects kits, then there are relly quite a few options for you.
My personal favorite is the Vizage Kit.

I like it because of its aggressive styling, but that's what turns a lot of people off about it.
The taillight covers are pretty readily available, that shouldn't be too hard to find.
The Eibach Pro-Kit is my favorite lowering system. I have it, and it rides excellent. Just the right height too, not too low, but low enough.
Other things that usually draw the most attention are the '98+ Style SS Spoiler, and the SS Hoods.
You can see the spoiler and several body kits at this site:

The hood you can see here: http://www.suncoastcreations.com/ProductDetail.cfm?id=2
Might want to take a bit and browse through these two websites - they will show you quite a bit...

Oh, and I read all of your posts with an British accent too. (And I am from Georgia - so that's good stuff).

Now this, is bloody gorgeous. It's a bit more aggressive, but in the modding world where I am from, it's subtle. Subtle is best. Some of the ****ty cars that are modified over here to look like cars from 'Fast and Furious' are a total joke. I blame that film for a lot of misserable creations here in England.
Wheels are perfect on this too. Look a bit like BBS RX2 Split rims, only nicer.
Thanks for the info.

Simon, where at in the UK are you? I'm over here at RAF Lakenheath and if you ever need a hand putting stuff together or just want to cruise the A11 or A14 give me a hollar. There are only a handfull of Camaros over here and defintely a head turner. Give me a shout sometime and we'll hook up or chat on the phone.

Thanks. Yeah, been speaking to some people that have worked at USAF bases in the UK. Can't think where Lakenheath is. Probably miles away from where I am.
You do know how much fuel is over here.... 90p a litre. That's about $1.50 a litre in your money....says he who wants to import a Camaro!! LOL will be used as a fun car, summer use only.

RAF Lakenheath is about 15 miles North of Cambridge on the A11. And where right there with you on the gas part. Thats why my daily driver is a Mazda 323! I have had my car just over two years and I just passed 8k miles on it! I'm lucky to get 190 miles on the tank and it costs me $30-34 to fill it up everytime. Where are you at anyway?
