Post ? about 17X11 wheels and chrome center caps?

hi,
today i ordered the ZR1 wheels for my SS from AFS with 17X11 in the back

i know some people have no problem fitting them in the back, but i hear of some having problems with the tires rubbing,

my car isn't lowered for now, but i do plan on lowering it in the future, so what can i do to avoid the rubbing problem?

one more question, where can i buy plain chrome center caps for those ZR1's?
thanks in advance,

My ZR1's came with "Corvette" emblems on the center caps. They were just glued on.... peeled right off, and left a plain center cap with a single black line about 1" in diameter. I subsequently bought Pontiac "arrowhead" decals, and they were supplied with 3" "chrome" vinyl discs that were applied over the center cap to get rid of the line, and then the arrowheads appled to the vinyl covers.

I hope you ordered the 50mm offset 17x11's. The 37.5's will stick slightly out from the fenders. The 50's will just tuck inside the fender line, when you look straight down from the top.

Is AFS finally off "back order" on these whels?

I seem to have had to do a lot more than most... and possibly my Strange 12-bolt is a little narrower than the stock rear, but I doubt it.

1. The jounce bumper bracket has a corner that sticks out about 1/2" from the body. When the wheel is in normal ride position, the bracket is poking inside the inner diameter of the rim and won't hit. But if someone tries to jack the car, and the wheels go to full drop, the bracket will catch on and damage the inner diameter of the rim. This bracket can be ground back to be almost flush with the inner fender.

2. You may have to hammer the inner fenders. I played it safe, and did probably a little more than necessary, but I also knew I had to fit some 28x11.5 QTP slicks in there. After hammering, a quick spray from a can of rubberized undercoat makes it virtually invisible.

3. If your car wasn't centered properly over the rear axle to begin with, or if it is lowered, you may have to recenter the body over the axle with an adjustable panhard rod. Again, since I already had the adjustable panhard, I moved the body about 1/8" to get the spacing on the left and right sides exactly equal.

I always emphasize the word may. since every time I post this, someone will tell me I am wrong, and that they didn't have to do anything. Just trying to make you aware that some cars have problems that need to be addressed.
