Both of which will help prevent damage by abuse but not by power.

The viper T56 also has a larger input shaft, but you're pretty much stuck running a chevy style input unless you care to reengineer all that.

FWIW, don't waste your time on the ZF6, I've done it in a 3rd gen, it's no stronger then a T56, it's more of a hassle, more trucklike and more expensive to fix...

Hey Joe,
When/if I buy my ZF 6-speed rebuild kit...maybe I could talk you into coming over and helping me with the assembly.

i want to know more about the T56 carbon fiber syncros and where can i get a rebuild kit that has the best parts(strongest) so that when the new motor goes in and i dump it at 4.5k with slicks and a 250hp shot the torque wont find any weak spot in my drive train

When I had my 90 corvette it had a zf6. It was in my opinion much more smoother shifting and quieter than my current t-56. When mine needed rebuilding, there is a ZF authorized place in Oakbrook that will rebuild them. They are absolutely not cheap! They wanted 1400 just for teardown and reassembly. Then, any parts will be added on.

All and all, I'd prefer the t-56. Seems like they can be beefed up more than the zf6.

Thats a false rumor. '93s had either a M28 borg warner or a M29 borg warner. Both versions of the T-56 but had different gearing. The M28 was the "base" model that came with the 2.73 rear and a stout first gear but was rated at 350ft/lbs of torque. And the M29 came with the 3.23 rear ends and was rated at 400ft/lbs of torque. In '94 they went to the MN6 only option for the 6spd wich came with 3.42s and was rated at 450ft/lbs.
