T/C question
Im currently planning on going with a VIG 3600 with #7 pump. Everybody i speak to says this converter stalls at (around) 3600. Yanks website says "4300" other people I speak to say 3600-3800. Whats up with this? The car isn't a daily driver, and im looking for a 4000+ stall here. Is there a VIG 4000? but will it stall at 4000? I have until the 12th to make up my mind. (reason being Chuck @ FLP get back from vacation on the 12th) he will start building my Level IV trans then. The purpose of this post is to make up my mind on with T/C to go with. Drag/strip/steet is all this car will see, with maybe the ocational weekday drive. My current Stealth Thruster 3200 T/C feels WAY TO CLOSE to stock, I need something with ***** to go with my new FLP trans Thanks everyone...

Torque convertors vary with stall speed. The more torque an engine makes, the more the same convertor will stall. I know LS1 cars can efficiently use a higher stall than LT1's since the torque isn't down low. Did you ask Chuck what he recommends? He is very good at putting together a nice trans package and can help you find what you're looking for. BTW, I hope you don't plan on driving your car for a while. Mine's been at FLP for over a month for my trans. I had a Level 4 built four months ago, and it didn't last too long. But they are working with me, I'm getting pretty much a whole new trans for a couple hundred bucks.
