Taner, I appreciate you saying that about the trans. Some people that have talked with me about buying it have had reservations about the power capacity.

I'ts coming along. I'm waiting for the pistons right now, have everything else. Need to get a few misc items like the intake valley cover, etc... I have been working on the chassis while waiting. Have the 10 point cage in it. I'm a having a chassis shop bend bars to connect the front half of the roll cage to the front of the fram horns in the engine compartment. Mounted the chute, relocated the battery kill switch. Made seat brackets for the Kirkeys. It's getting there.

very cool! i just picked up my chute today
burst panels are finally on the intake! got the resettable ones, from Wilson! no sooner did they get their first batch back from anodizing did they get a pair out to me! intake goes on this weekend, then maybe fire it up next weekend, problem is it will take a week for the rtv to dry it is so cold! ha ha!!! then just tune it and drive it
oh and i have to get removable chute mount done.

BTW, I'm not exactly sure if I'm gonne need this chute but with the big pills you never know.

You better need that chute!
Burst panels probably look awesome, Taner.
Just got my Manton pushrods yesterday, so that was my last package I was waiting on for the motor. The chassis is almost stripped down, so I can start modifying a few things and re-assembly next week. Well, next week will be wheel well mods to fit a 29.5 tire. I'm sure that'll take me a week.
Ended up I will be doing the same thing for a bellhousing.... welding in some 1/4" plate around the tunnel. Red said that he might get a bellhousing for us sometime this fall but maybe next spring. But he didn't sound too convincing with the talk of $20,000 in tooling to do it.
You guys gonna run training wheels to keep it off the back bumper? I'm looking at a few kits right now...leaning towards the S&W. But might get a custom one made up.

No training wheels for right now. If I need those that'll will be a welcome problem
As for bellhousing, I don't know what to do. How are you fitting that 1/4" plate in there? The rules say it has to be 360 degrees, securely fastened to the fram and cannot be attached to the engine or bellhousing. I see major floor surgery in the cards to make that work.
I'm looking into using one of McLeods modular SFI bellhousing assemblies and converting to a push type street twin if the make such a thing. I'll have to use a hydraulic t/o bearing. This will be mad expensive but it seems like the best solution.

Bryce,
no training wheels either! you don't need training wheels if the suspension is set right
actually the burst panels i mounted on the side of the plenum, between the runners. i will take some pics tonight and shoot one over to you. you'll see why i didn't mount them on the top!
intake goes on tomorrow, then button up loose ends, hopefully make some noise in the garage next weekend!

Dave,
Just had the modular one here for a few weeks. They are set up to run a mechanical linkage or a hydraulic throw out bearing with a push-style clutch. Either way it is about an 1 1/2" thicker(wider) than ours, and made for a totally different clutch setup. There is even a spacer included that adapts the crank to the input shaft, as they are too far apart with the thick modular bellhousing. And then the mounting, shifter, and tranny yolk are all that much farther back. Too much for me to worry about, since G-Force kinda convinced me the tranny wouldn't hold up unless I bought the skookum gear upgrade, etc, etc. But I guess the pull-style clutch is at it's limit too. I can't say I liked the looks of the modular, as it is made for both left and right handed starters, and just looked cheesy. Maybe I should have changed clutches and used it..........maybe I should just build a T400.
