Re: #s on my SB2.2 heads
lol!!! you bet it isn't cheap! lmao!!! but you have everyting in order. i went straight to the pro shot as I saw no need in spending money on a kit only to sell it to upgrade. I only renewed everything because I sold my old intake complete with the fogger, it worked great! just made it easier to sell it complete rather than in pieces, and I had bent everything to fit the intake it was on, saved alot of work! only difference from that kit to the new one is the nozzles themselves. the rest is identical. except for the distribution blocks, shaped like a "v" or "Y" .
Re: #s on my SB2.2 heads
Dave, I went with the ISKY 1341-LO-150. Intakes are offset .150 and the exhaust are centered. Very tall and very light pieces. Of course, these are what matched my rocker shafts, as there are just as many offsets offered for rockers too. Be sure they match up.
Taner, did you go with annular nozzles? I'm debating on giving Jeff Prock a call for a quote. Ryan has nothing but praise for him, but you saw that show personally! Sounds like it'll be another year of the "FTS" coming up anyway!

Re: #s on my SB2.2 heads
Can someone please explain to me why you need offest lifters and offest rockers. Also why the need for custom pushrods? I have always been curious about the valvetrain for those heads. thanks guys.
Re: #s on my SB2.2 heads
Taner, sounds good. Do you think you'll have any issues with your trans? You will be pushing a lot of power through it. That's the reason I went with the G-force T56. Once dad has had enought road racing that will go bye bye and a proper racing automatic will find it's way in. Along with maybe an 88mm turbo
Bryce, thanks. I've heard those Isky lifters are the way to go for this. My enigine builder has the rockers and heads so he can do the calculations for offset. It'll probably be different for me for height as the block your using is different but the offset sounds about right.
LT1camaroman93, Do a search on sb2 heads if you've never seen a pair before, if so notice that the intake ports are totaly different layout than standard 23 degree heads. They are symetrical like a big block with real big intake ports. THe offset lifter is required to get the pushrod around the port with an acceptable angle. Bret please correct me here if I'm off. Thanks.

What's your deal? Did you bump your head and lose your hardcore, ***** to the wall attitude since Sunday?
Re: #s on my SB2.2 heads
Listen man, if I need any crap from you I'll squeeze your anemic, small turbo, v6 head
If you had your way we'd be stuffing one of those outlaw 106mm jobs in there.

fts.....nah! i know another guy who praises Jeff Prock as well. I am going to stick with my own tune ups for now. use the good old portable wideband and dial her in the best i can.
the intake alone should provide some kick in the pants over last year.

Offset lifters are needed for the same reason, to maintain the geometry... rocker to lifter.
Custom pushrods are just one of those things you need because there isn't "shelf" pushrod for the build... even if there was, no one in their right mind would trust them to be the "correct" length. Lots of variables at work, especially so on the sb2.2.
As for the flow numbers, these look good. All said and done, the heads can go over 400 cfm so it's not too much of a stretch getting a lot of air to flow through them. I bought a set of these (sb2) when they first hit the scene (Nascar had shelved them) and another set when the 2.2 came out. The drag guys were about the only ones messing with them at that time. In the long run, I think the Chevy and Brodix CV heads are a better head for a drag car. They (sb2.2) also seem to be pretty finicky on the port work... I've seen heads flowing 5% more air in mid-top make about ~5% less power, so your sb2.2 porter had better know his stuff. It aint all about airflow, the things have to burn well too.
Whatever you do, don't run anything but a direct port nitrous system on them or you'll run into some troubles.

Can't wait to see that beast run Dave. Best of luck to ya!

. BTW, shouldn't you be worrying about the flow #s on the heads you're supposed to be porting for me? How are they coming along?Oh, in case I didn't say it Sunday, the car's gonna haul some serious a$$!!! I can't wait to see it all up and out of shape

Thanks Mindgame and SStrokerAce. I was hoping to hear from you both on the subject. My guy didn't touch the ports. Those numbers are from the porting done by Petty (or whoever does it fro them). I have an NX direct port setup. There's another guy local that has an SB2 motor with a carb on it and burned it up pretty good last year with a plate so I've seen the results of that.
BTW, Sorry if this post has strayed from the advanced tech theme somewhat.
RBE17. Your heads look great sitting on the bench collecting dust. I told you, I'm gonna wait until the last minute to port them so your screaming at me will be my motivation
