Greetings!


Is it worth installing roller rockers with 1.6:1 ratio on my engine? How much will I gain with that?


My engine configuration is as follows:

Engine:

Chevy SB 383 stroker, Edelbrock RPM AirGap dual plane intake manifold, Dart Iron Eagle Heads with int:2.02 exh:1.60, roller rockers 1.5:1 ratio, carb Mighty Demon 825, Cam: CompCams Extreme Energy XE274H (duration @050: in:230, ex:236, lift in:.490, ex:.490), full length Hooker Headers, HEI ignition, forget pistons, forget crank, forget connection rods...

Tranny: TH-350 with TCI Master Racing Overhaul kit, B&M transpak shift and Adjustable Transmission Modulator Valve, B&M Holeshot 2400 Torque Converter

Rear end: GM 10 bolt, 3.23 gear ratio, Auburn gear Pro series LSD

I actually sugested that he post it here..... his original thread posted here covered multiple topics, and I suggested that he split it and post it in three different forums. He did exactly what I suggested.

I could have asked him to put it on "3rd Gen Tech", but given the fact that he's coming to us from Slovenia, I thought maybe we could cut him some slack and show a bit of hospitality.

My apologies if this offended any of the "Advanced Tech" regulars.... but please try and understand my thought process.

Yes the extra lift will help, but I'm not sure it will be worth the expense. If you are able to sell your 1.5 roller rockers to someone else to help offset the cost of the 1.6 rockers, it might be worth the money.
