John, no question I am going with more cam... it's a matter of which one? That is still undecided.

Denny, the MAF was actually recently replaced. Another of the many 'other shops' f*** ups we found. They tapped a hole for my wet shot NSX system and hit the sensor housing... was causing all kinds of problems.

I did see Craig on Friday. He has had some family tragedies and is far behind. I will be patient a bit longer and see what he can do with those heads. I can only hope at this point that they come out better - whether it's 'enough' will have to be seen later.

What flow numbers then?

Thanks John, done. Now that GTP has my heads back, what kind of flow numbers should I be looking for to make that 420/44rwhp goal? I mean if they do come back 280/215 peak is that enough?

Would I have to look at going to a stage III or an AFR casting or something else to make that?

Using a 236/242 cam you should make 420rwhp w/o a lot of problems. Try the newly redone GTP heads before thinking about going further.

Always eliminate each variable one at a time instead of introducing more new ones. You have a problem and I assure you.... it's not how the heads flow.

I'm not an LT1 guy, but 290/215 for stage II's seems to sound okay. But I would personally satisfied with flow numbers that are as good as the average numbers out there.

I am a huge fan of doing one change at a time, and also going over parts with a fine tooth comb. Check the valve job before you do the heads. Then, make sure you have springs that work with whatever springs you are going to use. Make sure they are installed at the right installed heighth. Pick as big of a cam as you can stomache (lopey rough idle) and use that. Make sure it's degreed right. Big motors need more cam, I don't know why, herhaps something to do with filling the cylinders.
