If I rip off my A/C and use only my Alternator and Power steering pump will this give me a gain in HP? Someone told me that it would. Also how much of a gain do aftermarket pulleys really give you? They advertise something like 20 HP. And does anyone know where I can get Chrome brackets for the Alternater P/S pump with 97 Vortec heads? Thanks Very much.

 

Ohh yeah, also does it matter what way my water pump turns when I put the belts on?

Kind of hard to respond to a tech question like this when you don't specifically identify the engine/application you are talking about. From the mention of 97 Vortec heads, can we assume you are talking about a Gen 1 SBC in some sort of F-Body?
