help find out cubes of my motor

okay i confused myself once again

i have a 327ci motor in my camaro that was bored .40 over and has the stock length rods in it. THe compression is (i think) 10.5:1. I found on some site that 327ci = 4.001bore x 3.250 stroke

so if i have it bored .40 over that would make the bore 4.401???

i pluged that into the virtual engine calculator that i found online and it said my motor is 395.5ci

?????????????????????

this doesnt seem right

plz help and thxs

"40 over" means 40 thousandths over or .040, not .40. That makes the bore 4.040 (or 4.041 if it actually measured it at that size).

To calculate displacement:

Bore x Bore X stroke X # of cylinders X .7854

4.041 x 4.041 x 3.250 x 8 x .7854 = 333.46, the infamous "333" Chevy.

FWIW, the center to center bore spacing on a SBC is 4.40 so if you bored the cylinders that big, the walls would be VERY thin.

As the pistons would be "kissing", it would be positively indecent. Though they do say you can't be too thin!
