Hellfire Rings

Do Hellfire piston rings contribute to or cause excessive cylinder wear?
If so, what would be a ballpark estimate on the amount of mileage (street with limited track time) I could put on a FI Stroker motor before a re-bore/ ring job would be necessary?

Re: Hellfire Rings

what material is it made of? I'm talking about the top "compression" ring?
Never heard of hellfire... I'm thinking of buying some Total Seal rings or maybe the company that is owned by AE Clevite, its called Perfect Circle Automotive.

Re: Hellfire Rings

It will break before bore wear becomes a problem

Re: Hellfire Rings

That's what I suspected but I hope that's not the case.

Speed-Pro makes HellFires, a hardened, tempered alloy with a plasma-moly facing.
Supposed to help with cylinder sealing under extreme pressures.
