I normally start with the 61429 casting. Musi's port is not bad...but certainly does not take full advantage of the casting. The last set of BBC vics that I shipped ended up on a 622 with a wilson manifold and 2 of p-budds carbs. it made just a tick under 1170 (I think it was 1169.5) on gas.

To give you another example would be the Dart Pro-1 320's. I start with this casting for a variety of small BBC sportsman engines. I offer a very VERY simple deal for less than $1050.00 the customer gets milling, porting, VJ, and setup...not advertising..just showing how little amount of work goes into these. A few weeks ago I was contacted by a sportsman racer who had a 496, low compression (12.5:1), dirt track roller (too much duration, wrong events, low lift ~.700) and a single 4150HP. He came to me looking for 750HP. A set of the simple 320's and a plenum ported super vic gave him 801.7 @7200 before the block broke (apparently the engine builder missed a crack). I had a customer 3 or 4 months ago with a 555 that had the same castings but stock. Correct cam shaft, same head work as the 496, and runner / plenum ported 4500 s/v netted 914@7250.... For the money, you can't go wrong with these heads.... For a 632 the 345's would be the starting point with similar work.

The Vics pro port casting is awesome to say the least, but it takes me another $1600-$1800 to make the power I did on the 622 listed above. You have to figure out what works within your goals, budget, and porters experience to see what works for you. My question would be why are you asking the question here and not asking your porter or engine builder?
