Getting rid of stock ECU
It will only control "pulse width modulated" type IAC valves. The version I have (M48Pro) will not handle the GM "stepper" type. I think the later M800 series will handle both.

Actually, man, I dunno anymore. I don't know how this ever turned into me building a 9 second race car. But it did. I'm thinking I'll just finish doing what I'm doing to see if I can make some 9 second n/a pass's with the thing... then pull the motor back out, put in some flat tops, a mild solid roller, go back to LT1 edit, and have myself a nice street car. No more of this race car bs. I'm chopping up a beautiful 97 SS. That is pointless. If you want a race car, build a race car. But don't turn your street car into one unless you have a reason to. It's a waste of time and money... and enjoyment of a nice vehicle. I'd rather a 10 second street car than a 9 second race car.

I know what you're saying. I have a beautiful black 97 SS and I started to do the same thing. First, since I was bracket racing it regularly I decided I needed to be more consistent so I took the M6 out and put in a 700R4. Then when I spun a couple of bearings I decided to build a 383 stroker. Well one thing lead to another and the next thing I know I get a major case of the might as wells. You know what I mean, "while it's apart we might as well do this, we might as well do that." Of course, the more mods I planned for the motor the faster the car was gonna be. That meant it was gonna need extra safety equipment ie: roll cage, harness, ect. That meant chopping up my nice car. Not to mention the fact that I was soon gonna have to worry about passing emissions. I finally decided enough is a enough. I went and found a 93 Z/28 for $3000 stripped out everything that wasn't necessary and made a race car out of it. I put my 383 in it and now I have a 10 second race car and as soon as the machine shop is done with my other motor I'll have my SS back on the street. It wasn't cheap, but I'm happy I did it that way.
