First Look? - Valveless Heads

Saw this on another board, very nice concept.

Say goodbye to vavle float. Gear driven, no valve springs, rods or rockers...the sky is the limit.

Is this something that Indy/F1 currently uses?

Re: First Look? - Valveless Heads

That's been posted about before. I beleive the big automatkers looked at it and couldn't make it reliable enough for production vehicles. The possibilities make your mouth water, though, don't they? F1 vehicles don't use rotary valves that I am aware of- pneumatic valvetrain, but still poppet-type valves.

I'll have to alert "Unstable Bob" to this post. I remember at least 5 years ago he visited the Coates location here in Wall, NJ and took a look around, posting the results. As I recall, they were talking approx $15K for SBC heads.

Def a way interesting concept, and they were nice to me. But I didn't see much. Or I could tell yas what I saw, but then I would have to kill yas. I can admit that they had a 5.0 style 'Stang running the heads. Pop the hood at the local Gas and Go and watch Goober droooooool.
