AFR 210s Flow numbers... a bit odd..
I have to say that I am glad I have the 195cc AFR heads. The low and mid lift flow isn't much different from what I have seen with the bigger ports and for a street motor, flow over .600" is pretty meaningless.

I called phil... VERY STRAIGHT forward... if I do anything I will go with him...
That is the good side and most important side...
The bad size is that he quoted me $1500-$1700 for a full port job and $600 for cleanup... If I do anything it will be the cleanup. I dont think the full port job AT THIS STAGE is worth it, since as he told me, the ports are already shaped. I mean.. $1500 for 40more horses is a bit too much for now.I think ican just overcome that with a bit of more boost.
But hey.. I like his "attitude" and I liked that he remembered my name from just once I EMAILED him and then talked on the phone...
As I said, if I go with ANYONE it will be phil.. I just have some numbers to crunch, but for the gain.. 1500-1700+200 shipping (2nd day UPS obligatory) too much.
Lets see how the cleanup goes up and how does it work and I will let them go over there.

I bought the heads from them bare. I think they were $1,100. Then another $2,400 for porting and all the other goodies. At the time I wanted proven results so I went with them. They charge a pretty penny but did a great job. If I had to do it all over again though, someone else would have done the porting for me. Same guy that did my custom cam. Mr. 9 second all motor man him self. I also would have gone with the AFR 227's

My LT4's are going to Phil at Ai. I too was duly impressed by his knowledge and attitude. His work speaks for itself as well.
A bit update on these...
When phil got the heads his flow numbers where 4-5 cfms less than TEA... maybe the difference in bores? from 4.030 (Ai) to 4.050 (TEA)
The flow numbers phil quoted me where: and the ported ones next to them
.100 68.8---69.4
.200 132.9 142.3
.300 185.5 201.1
.400 231.4 249.7
.500 262.5 283.2
.550 271.0 292.5
.600 276.7 297.8
.650 279.7 299.1
.700 280.2 299.6
Beyond that the intake stalled/fell off.
Exhaust...
.100 53.5 --55.6
.200 107.6 110.9
.300 152.9 155.8
.400 189.0 191.5
.500 206.4 208.3
.550 211.8 213.1
.600 214.4 216.8
.650 216.7 219.5
.700 220.0 222.0
Not as much gain as the intake but its a nice setup... it should make decent power.

If I have time I'll flow them on a 4.155" bore instead of the 4.030" to see how that changes things so that the #'s will at least be comparable to the #'s AFR publishes. I would have liked to have seen an honest ~305 @ .600, but with what AFR had already taken away & the port trajectory on the CNC'd stuff it just wasn't happening - even pushing to dimensions that typically net 310-315cfm. At that point we begain to trade airflow & with them gradually increasing from .700-800" it really wasn't worth it IMO. I think it's just not "optimal" though it should work well. AFR's exhaust wasn't bad & with them in the high 70/low80 % range we bumped the midlift mostly & left it alone.
I hope you'll be pleased when all is done. I'm sure it'll make good power with the YSi hanging off the front of it regardless
I got your email (and a pile from a bunch of other people I've been going through since early this morning) & will respond shortly. Back to my hole
