You could obviously do it with a boosted car, if you were willing to dump a buttload of money into it, but I understand the intention in your statement is for naturally aspirated.

Besides, boosted cars ALWAYS cost more in reality than they do in theory.

frans,

g'luck with it....it ain't easy! 5 trans rebuilds in just over a year!

houdini,

efi, little M or iron eagle block, my trans would bolt right up to it, and i could get the car into the nines on motor, and still be able to drive it on the street/highway ! i am still quite ignorant when it comes to this stuff, but i am have learned and continue to learn a ton!!!
i am fortunate enough that one of my very good friends happens to build my motor. and funny thing is my lil' Lt is pretty small considering some of the stuff he puts together, in and around 632 ci. motors.

i will eventually sell my stuff, hopefully as a combo in a year or so. it is already a proven combination, imo. and would love to see how quick it would go in an auto car!

Do the "cheap" LS2 builds come with a similar warranty? Do they also come with all the manifolds, accessory drive, fuel system, and other related components necessary to drop into an original LT1 chassis?

This statement is one of the most true car related statements that ive ever heard honestly ive spent more then an LS7 already and im not done but then my power goal is a little high

Any build, not just supercharged costs more to build in reality then in theory. Usually at least 50% more when its all said and done.

haha thanx i appreciate it.... i still dont know weather i wanna go 6 speed or power glide.... im pretty damn good at driving a 6 speed but i dont wanna put wheelie bars on the car or anything.... my motor is already done and makes pretty damn good power i think.... PM me if you dont mind i would like to talk to u about a few things with ur tranny set up.... i was talking to RPM Transmissions and if i go 6 speed they are gonna build me a custom trans where i will have to use an ls1 style clutch with all diff **** inside the tranny..... but if you dont mind PM me.....

FWIW getting a LS7 motor and prepping it is the easy way to 700-750hp and still have a nice driver that you don't have to take care of like a 1 year old kid.

Actually those heads are very well designed. Mike Chapman has said there is not too much he would change in terms of those heads. Hell I'm using a slightly modified version in a 438 cube 8000rpm LS drag motor that will easily make over 900hp.
