427cid Z06 Engine
Next motor I build will be in the LS family. I need to sell my current stroker.
ls2 is a stroked ls1 with z06 heads, and there cheap to build too, 1000 for ported heads, 400 for cam and roughly 800 for a fast 90/90 and your right around 500rwhp
Why everybody doesnt do that? Okay it doesnt end with an only engine.. Exhaust, PCM, Complete Harness, but I people already spend these moneys.
BTW, next time you need a 383 built let me know. The U.S. charges waaaaaaaaaaay too much. I had a local shop build my short block for under $4000. My total bill for headwork, internals, cam, fuel injectors, tuning, misc parts, etc. was still under $9000.

My engine was built for 17.000$ at ThunderRacing and came to my country for 28.000$
(Shipping & customs)If I were US I would buy a Z06 Damned!! (Here Z06 is 200K $, and 10K $ taxes for every year)

You can make 505hp for much, much, much cheaper than what it costs to buy an LS7.
Ok, put the pipe down. The LS2 has a 4.000" bore the LS1/6 has a 3.900" bore. The stroke is the same for both. The LS2 has the LS6 heads. Look at GMPowertrain's website for a more info.
Actually Dan, it's a bored LS1...4" bore, still 3.622" stroke...
You would still need to get some pretty impressive heads and a little bigger cam to do the 500rwhp...Don't forget the longtubes and the porting of that intake as well, and a world class tune...500whp doesn't come easy, but it can be done if you pay attention to the small details...
*picks the pipe back up and drives my far superior LT1*
I'm sorry... you can do a LT1 with 500hp for way less than that, and if you need more ponies N2O is cheap, and better yet, a turbo is only a few grand. $10000 on a build bass *** LT1, then $4000 on a turbo... bingo... 700 hp with a G left for fuel pump and suspension brake upgrades.
Not that it's cheap, but that LS7 engine has some wicked technology in it for a street car... but it's not unbeatable for the cost. Though it's nice to have GM back it up with warranty.

The LS7 is not really worth it because unless you have the big $$$$ to build it its about as far as you can go with it. if you want an ls engine build an iron block lsx style. I am building a L76/L92 408. it might not be the best proven combo but should net me around 475-500rwhp and cost about the same as it would to build my lt1.
Also........
Unless you're starting with an LS1 F-Body, you'll be doing a transmission swap too.
When my LT1 starts getting tired (which should be in the very distant future since it only has 65,000 miles on the clock), I'll likely switch to an LS2-based 402.

Please enlighten me,ls7's average 430-450rwhp with reliablity and good gas milage N/A,i am far from any kind of expert but just dont see it happening.I know you can get that kind of power from an lt1,but i look at it in terms of streetable.
BTW I already change my transmission as you see: from A4 to M6..
Anyway its too late to be regret isn't it?
