Yeah that means I have to go back to the lesser flowing 227 heads as opposed to the 215 competion heads. I suppose 20-30 CFM @.700 lift shouldn't hurt me too much. Ugh, decisions, decisions....

Why spend the extra money if you dont have to? I mean I dont think these blocks will take much more then 1300hp, so there is no need to go nutz.

That's true....how's yours been if you don't mind me asking?? And if I can ask, who made the cam?? I don't want to overstep and ask specs. but that would be nice as that's pretty much the final hurdle in this motor build.

Re: 408 turbo LT1

To be honest with you I could not be happier with the car. It runs and drives pretty close to what a stock camaro would. Took it on road trips this year, everything turned out to be exactly what I wanted and more. Very happy with it!
Im not trying to keep any secrets..Its all about helping people out. My cam is fairly small, because it is daily driven(also helps the car live up to my user name). Its like a 236/230 duration and about .600 lift. I had cam motions grind this cam.

Good luck with the project..It would be nice to see another fast LT1 on the power tour next year.

Re: 408 turbo LT1

Power Tour will all depend on how streetable we really make this thing. Since it will be a race car first and formost, street and trip comforts are going to be the last thing we think about. But we should be able to pull it out for the Chicago stop without a doubt, just a question of if we do the long haul or not. Thanks for the info on the cam, we'll probably go a little more agressive, just to help make some more power.

Fast....probably tuned by FLP, unless Brian from BV can get good at it by spring time.
