Cam Question

the larger cams with around .525 inch lift are said to be best used at approx 3500-6000 rpm, compared to one with lets say .484 which would be like 1000-4000 rpm, my question is would that larger cam have the same effectiveness at lower RPM that the smaller cam does, is it just that it does better on upper RPM

depends upon alot of things. First take a look at the "cam gurus" thread down the page. That will help you some, then ask a more specific question.

>I used to have the Crane Cams PowerMax 2050 ( http://www.cranecams.com/master/apps...#2.%20CompuCam ) with 1.6 roller rockers on my stock bottom end LT1 (AFR heads , headers , 3"exhaust , etc.) It seemed like the motor dogged out a little below 3000 rpm's but was like an animal above 3000 rpm's . Where the stock cam had it's power through out the rpm range .
I hope this makes sense .
