Post Who has best bang for the buck performance chip?

I have a 92 Z28 with TPI350 and was wondering who has experienced the most 1/4 mile improvement with what chip? My car is now completely stock with exception of Holley air foil and K&N cone filter. Thanks for any replies.

Until you get more mods I would hold off on a chip.Try bumping the timing up to 10 to 13 degrees.AS you start to put more mods on like headers, cam, intake, exhaust, then I would look into getting an edwright custom chip matched pertect to your mods.Don't forget to get a good convert(2800stall) and a set of 373 gears. You will be singing to the sound of low 13's or even maybe high 12's.

play with the timing and fuel pressure. dont get a chip unless it is custom or you did it yourself

Thumbs up

I agree with what the guys above said about matching the chip to your mods. I have an Ed Wright stage 2 chip in my car and I am very pleased with the results. When you are ready to do it I would highly recomend them. Pricing is also very good.

quick question...a chip should probably be the last thing to do, because any significant new mods means you'd probably want to get a new chip burned, right?

Thanks for the replies. I have a 87 Grand National that I have running 11.50s @ 116 in 1/4. The tuned port 350 is a whole different animal. I need to get some baseline runs on the car and start from there.

i know lots of the turbo guys are running speed desity systems rather than wasting your money on a chip. try pokeing around www.turbobuick.com Some of the guys in my area are using speed pros system, i plan to upgrade to that. You can tune your car for what ever you want to do 10psi boost 20psi race gas, daily driving and so forth. Where with a chip you would need multiple chips to do this. $$$$

I have one from www.fasterproms.com and am very pleased with the results and the great tech support for diagnosing some other issues I had at the time. They get a chip as close as possible based on your mods and them have you make runs with monitoring equipment and them burn the chip till they get it on the money. They are around $500 for the first chip but after that, if you do more serious mods and need a new chip, it is around $150
