I do have a question though, you say the MAF is bad which i have also been told by many others, but how come GM went back to the MAF on the LT1's and LS1's i never understood this, or is it just the TPI style computer that is limiting when it comes to this?

I did look heavily into injection but when i see guyz with practically the same setup i have and then they put some sort of injection on it and they make absolutly no power, it turns me off bigtime. I mean i see alot of TPI cars and LT1 cars with power adders that are putting down the same power i am naturally aspirated, do u know what my cars gonna do when i add a blower or nitrous i can't wait .

All in all I do think FI is cool but everytime i look at peoples results i just dont feel like being bothered and especially with my plans of drag racing it just doesnt work out, like i said when it becomes a full time street car i'll mess around with it i'm sure.

Thanks for the reply greasemonkey, cool car!

The mass air flow sensor is a small restriction but you can purchase bored out sensors that offer tons more cfm. The reason GM went back to the MAF sensor is because it is so much more accurate than speed density. MAF sensors actually measure the amount of air moving into the intake. Speed density uses a set of predetermined calculations based on input from the MAP sensor and VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor). So you can see where MAF would be more accurate.

The reason most people with F/I are not making as much power as you (and most people who know anything about cars) think, is becausethey aren't doing it right. They are adding big mouth runners without a bigger manifold or bigger throttle bodies. Not only does this defeat the purpose of more air flow but it can actually hurt performance by causing turbulence in the manifold. Hence the reason for port matching. Or they add a monster cam and forget about the price you pay in vacumn. Adding bigger fuel injectors without looking at the duty cycle or pulse width, then adding all that fuel without adding anymore air. Adding a whole bunch of major components and keeping the stock chip or not calibrating the existing chip. Everything you do on a F/I engine must compliment something else which is why it can become so expensive. It is like these guys who go out and buy Nitrous (in large amounts) or a turbo or super charger and bolt it on and go ***** out. Without fortifying their internals and then wonder why they throw a rod. I believe anyway you go is the best way to go as long as you are happy with it.

Good luck.
