Okay im broke but im currently in the process of planning everything that i want to put into my car. It will be a 383 that will be built with the intention that if i wanted when im done i could put on twin turbos so it will be putting out a ton of power. The purpose of this car is that im going to build it until its not street legal and then convert it to an auto-cross and road race car. For a while i have been looking at trannys and the two i have been looking at are the richmond 6 speed and the d&d performance dodge viper transmission.

Up until this point i have never heard of the M20-21-22 trannys. The M22 is obviously the strongest out of all of these. Why was it only offered on cars that had 3.55 gears or higher??? Would this transmission make a good race transmission? How smooth is it? Also if anyone has a good link as to somewhere to look at that has a lot of info on this transmission or just any advice for someone whos looking to go a similar route as me that would be great
