Swap Help

I have 91 Camaro currently with a v6 in it but I'm swapping it out with a v8. I also want to replace the stock gauges at the same time with AutoMeters or some other aftermarket. Is this possible? I was planning on using the Covan gauge cluster but just noticed it only goes up to 1989. Any help/suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Swap Help

I think the biggest problem with the gauges is that in 1990 (when GM went to your style dash) the speedometer was electronic instead of mechanical. I'm sure they make aftermarket guages for your car, but I sure there expensive. My buddy has a 79 Z28 and he wanted me to call Summit to see how much a full set of Autometer guages were.....$750!!!!!! OUCH!

Re: Swap Help

Are you going to to a carbed v8? If so, you can use the Coven panel and just run everything yourself (grabbing a mechanical sending unit and cable from a junkyard is pretty simple)
