Steering Colomn, need help with high-beam switch
Hey guys. Well, I got my streeting colomn appart and got the three inverse torx pos screws tight, all is well. I went to put it all back together, and it seems fine EXCEPT the part where the tilt cover meets with the big, round steering colomn cover, there is a long pin and a plastic piece that kinda sits on it. What does this do? I assume high-beams, as when I put it all back together, my high-beams would not work and would not "click". I think that rod is disconnected at the bottom wherever that switch is. I never pulled it appart, I think when I got the colomn dissasembled, this came appart. How do I fix this? Please tell me its not going to be too hard?! Thanks guys, any info will be helpfull.
LOL... I had the same problem.. I told you, when you asked how to tighten up the bolts.. I hope you used loktite on the torx bolts or they WILL come out again...I still haven't gotten my high beam low beam rod back in correctly.. What a pain.. The manual is very vague.. I got my rod in but I haven't figured out how to get the plastic piece at the top of the rod connected to the turn lever... Maybe some one can help, since I have the same problem...
I know :-). I used Loctight, but I think they will come loose again, looks like a pos setup. I got my friend from GM to print me a full on diagram of the colomn, so I am going to try to figure it out. I'll let you know if I get it. I have the diagram on how the rod is attached to that little piece of plastic and the cruise control wire, but I think its loose at the bottom, so I don't know where to attach it there (hi-beam switch). I hate this.
I figured what it does, but I think the hi-beam rod is loose down at the switch as it just dangles there with no spring or no resistance. So even if I do get the plastic in all good, it still does nothing. I am going to attempt to finish it today.
