I have a '86 IROC-Z with the 305 TPI, I turned off the engine and went to turn it back on and wouldn't start. Replaced the starter and still won't start. All of the wires are on correctly and there is power to everything. Please help because I need it running by next week.

I thought my starter was bad, it seemed to mimick the heat soak symptoms. So I got a brand new starter....still no start.

Turned out the ignition cylinder was bad! No one ever guessed that.

Wasn't sending a signal to the starter---well something like that.
