i just went through all of it... made my doors worse but that's only because my doors were perfect and i thought after my repaint that adding something new would make it the same or better at least.

it really depends on how your door is sagging, you must be specific on this as there are parts to help if you really need it but sometimes it's a simple fix. plenty of search topics on the net to help you. just don't be in a hurry to spend $100 a door to fix something you could possibly do someway else.

I just did the driver's door on my '87 today. In my case, it was the lower hinge that was worn. I bought a pin and bushing kit from the "help" section of my local parts store for $5. The spring was a challenge to get out and back in, but the rest of it was a breeze. It's as good as new now.

was it just the detent pin and bushing you needed to replace on the lower hinge?

the new setup from topdown caused me so many problems i had to change hinges completely. this i'm sure was purely something on my end since it seems the kit has helped so many though.

Yeah i'm thinking of replacing the hinges. The doors are friggin heavy on the convertible, and when i close the door...I have to really slam it hard to make sure it's shut.

well just look into your options. thankfully you can get some of the parts necessary from topdownsolutions if you really need it. just make sure you need them.

On mine it was the center pin and bronze bushings it sits in. The detent roller just needed some grease.

that's 99% of the issues with our cars. that's what mine needed too but i thought i'd replace everything to have that new look! wasn't smart.. everything works now but $300+ out the window and alot of time wasted.

my old ta got a new set of hinge pins and door handles the day I got her. i didn't have the luxury of an appropriate jack. needless to say my buddy was sore for a few days from holding that door up while i worked
