Putting engine back in....Problems
Ok Im putting the 350TPI back into my 92' Firebird. I cant get the clutch threw the shaft of the transmittion. I have the bell housing bolted to the transmittion side. I was thinking about taking off the motor mount part that is bolted to the block so i can make it more level. Any suggestions? I also have a jack under the tranny trying to get it aligned. 2 hours now and cant get it. THanks for the help in advance

i have never done it with the bellhousing one the tranny, i have always bolted the b-housing to the motor then put the tranny into the b-housing. give that a try, maybe it will help.
actually the last 4-5 times i have pulled a motor i pulled the tranny with it and put it in the car in one piece because it was only a few more bolts and it seemed like less hassle instead of tackling the bellhousing and firewall clearance issues, thats just me thought, i just think its simpler.

Well we got it in yesterday and have been working all night in getting it ready. We actually pulled the tranny out, mounted the block, then aligned the tranny shaft into the engine. We are sitting around here at 6AM waiting till 8 to get a thermostat at the auto parts store so we can fire her up with open headers. Cant wait. Thanks for the help guys.
