I see one of the local shops has Scat 383 cranks for $200CDN. Starting with a 350 block and rods, what else is required? Using a non roller cam is one 350 block pretty much the same as another? I assume the 305 block wil not accomodate the extra stroke. Anyone?

 

You need differnet pistons, with a shorter compression height. No big deal they are so pupular nowadays they can be had almost as cheap as regular 350 pistons.

Other than crank and rods, all you really need is a little machine work, clerancing and making the bore 4.030.
