Lightbulb Nice car, but the engine needs new life!

Here's the situation, I am 16 and have this nice 1984 Camaro Z28. It has a 5.0L V8 HO OHV. I need help on figuring out what I need to do to add on and make it better. Basically, I have the base to a nice engine, but nothing is good on it like I want it to be. I am in the learning process so I need help. Please suggest things that I can do to this engine. Please help!

Not really all that hard..Save your cash and buy the GM 350/330HP crate engine..For little more than 2200 dollars you get a brand new not r4ebuilt engine with some of the best rods from the factory and the best heads ever from the factory hands down..You will just need to get a flywheel from an 86 or newer engine to get it to work..Then get the matching intake and swap it all over..Not sure if one is avail but try to get one that will work with a Q jet carb, if you have the 4bbl Q jet even though its electronic it will work for a while.. Save your money when it comes to the 305..Its junk and will always be junk..Just keep on driving it like it is..

Simple or vague questions like this can get a better reply in the proper section..3rd gen tech comes to mind..

This is "3rd Gen Tech", and should be posted there for better responses.
