new problem??????

alright ive geared my 1991 camaro rs down to 373 in the rear and now my speedometer is off and when it maxxes out the speedometer it electronically kills the engine. in other words its very very annoying is there an easy way to fix these 2 problems.

If you have to change both gears, the one on the input shaft is not that hard for an auto. I have no idea for a stick shift. Took me less than an hour, and it is perfect. Mathematically almost certifiable.

Like your 3.73's? They are the bomb. I would go 4.10's in my 98, but with it already pushing the TPI and only having 4 gears, the 3.73's were an awsome compromise...

hey thanks for the quick reply, yes i like the 3.73 gearing! and any ideas how to lose the speed governor? cause my car is capable of higher speeds than it will allow.

The 91 came with a computerized speedometer. I'm pretty sure you can both compensate for your new gears and change your max speed by making specific modifications to your PROM. Ask a PROM tuner or go to TGO to learn more because I cannot personally give specifics on how to do this.
