I would put some heavier wait oil in like 10w40 or staight 50 weight or put a additive in like Lucas Oil Treatment. That should increase your oil pressure and get you by for quite a while. The standard for RACE motors is 10 psi for every 1000 rpm, so you should be fine.
As for your tranny. I agree with getting a salvaged tranny and shopping around to get the swap done. Of course, what happened to the days of swapping out a tranny in the drive way with a couple guys and some hand tools, all to be able to race that night.
