Need help with rich problem

No, not too much money rich. I had the LT1 intake moded and put on my 305. I also installed an LT1 cam, Torquer heads, AFPR, Ed Wright chip. It runs real rich. I have the stock 19lbs injectors in it and the fuel pressure is set at around 38lbs right now. It does run and runs dam good, still faster than it did before. But runs rich. It runs rich enough that it has a miss. I called Ed Wright and he thinks its the 02 sensor, which I should change because when we first started it up after the swap it ran rich and foaled the plugs. What do you guys think?

Any suggestions?

Vaccum leak, bad O2's, timing, could be a number of things.

Can 02's be cleaned out with something like brake cleaner or should you just replace them?

Nice car. I hear the 91/92 Formulas are the most aerodynamic F-bod's ever made. I'd like to get one someday. As fro running rich, I'd get new O2 sensors, not just clean your old ones. I don't know if you have an intake air temp sensor but if you do, you can relocate it to a warmer spot (like near the exhaust). This will lean it up a little. Good luck.

You would need a scantool to see what is going on. Assuming you have already checked the usual problems.

When is it running rich and how do you know?

When my car was running pig rich I found that it was my O2 sensor. I replaced the darn thing and the car ran a lot better.

Hook up a scan tool to it. Otherwise how do you know its rich? Is there black smoke coming out of the tailpipes?

I can tell its rich because its shooting gas out the exhaust and the fuel smell, plus the miss. And the guy that helped put the motor back together said the timing is set to like 15-20 BTDC to get it to run. Don't know if that makes since or not. I don't have a scan tool, been trying to find someone close to go to.

I would suspect it is in the EPROM programming. Would need a scantool to see stuff like what the pulsewidth is at idle and what not.

I have heard of people using a can of spray stuff to check for leaks. They spray it around the intake and TB, anyone know what to use?
