Low Compression Issues

What could be the cause of low compression in my engine? I have a 1983 Camaro z28. Just pulled it out of storage. Its been there for 4 years straight. Last time it ran, it had low compression

More than likely the rings are shot. You could be losing Compression through them if they aren't good anymore. Or could even be head gaskets, if they are broken and tore up then could be the same deal with that as well.

Check the compression and then squirt some oil into the cylinder and check it again. If the compression goes up, it's probably rings. If it's unaffected, it's probably valves.

There car's been sitting for 4 years but it only has 56320 miles on it. The rings could go bad that quick?

I think you first need to find out about that screw! then get your car ready to run, then check your compression.
