You need to drop the gas tank, which means dropping the exhaust and rear axle. Once the gas tank is out of the car, you tap the ring around 1/4 turn and it'll come right up.

Yeah, if you don't know how to work on cars, go ahead and cut the floor. It took me only one hour (by myself) to remove the axle and exhaust, it not that hard. Do as Jim says. Changing manifolds for headers is harder.

Being from Cali I can see why it took you only an hour to drop the tank....No Salt Corrosion. The first time I changed one out it took me over three hours to remove the tank because of trying to get all the bolts broke free for all of the rust build up. The next time on the same car it only took an hour but it is still a pain especially if it goes out when the tank is mostly full.

ok, you do have to drop the exhaust.. but you dont have to drop the rear end. you do have to lower it, but dont drop it out, at least i didnt have to. the job acually wasnt hard. it was just removing everything that was a pain. and the filler neck.lol, when you go to put it back in, make sure you get a little pissed at it so you can jam it back in. but dont break it!. it took me and my buddie about 1hour to do it after i had everything moved and out of the way. good luck man,.
