Gotta be electrical....mechanical pumps are cake. 4 bolts, 2 lines, and pull it off the block. The in-tank electrical pumps.....now those are a PITA.

Yeppers I was wrong. Found that out on the way home. Yea the car is almost back together they just have to get a new bolt that was stripped out (one for the Cat). & bleed the brakes.

No wonder it was a PITA. They do have a clue what they're doing

I've done several FI pumps. First time it took 3 hours. I can do one in under 2 now. Never had to disconnect ANY part of the brake system.

Excuse me??? But my brother in law has taken Mechic classes. & hes done this several times.
They took the REAR end off & the only way to do that is to disconnect the brake lines.

Yeah it is a pain. It's not necessary to take the rear off, but like you said, if they did, then obviously they will have to bleed the brakes. I don't know if taking the time to take the rear off would be of a benefit.

Like Marc said, some can do it in 2 hours (with experience) others probably around 4 with the rear on the car.

Ok let me say this. My car one of the other owners did a screwy job of putting on the muffler & tail pipes. which you have to at lease drop to get it out & I right?????????????If I had pics of it i would but right now I am not going out.

No matter what They had to drop the rear end because of the way that everything is set up in the car. They had no other choice unless they cut the body of the car (on the inside of the car) Which I would have screamed at.
