engine stumbles

Hi, I Have A 1992 Rs Camaro 305 Cid The Problem Is When The Engine Warms Up And I Put It In Drive The Engine Stumbles Then Stalls. I've Changed The Tps- Cap Rotor-spark Plug Wires And Spark Plugs Checked Timinig Nothin Works.also When I Go To Do The Timing . When I Disconnet The Timing Wire ( Grey & Black Wire Passenger Side) The Check Engine Light Stays On . Is This Ok ? How Do I Turn It Off ? There Are No Codes Showing

Clear codes and reset lights by disconnecting the battery neg lead for a few seconds.

Does it idle a little fast? If it's TBi, while the engine is cold, squirt some carb cleaner aroung the base of the TBi unit. If the idle changes significantly, then the base gasket is bad.
Listen for vacuum leaks too.
