door rubbing fender slightly

Alright here's the deal. The driver's side door of my car is slightly rubbing against the fending and has now chipped a small thing of paint off.

I think it might be something wrong with the fender. On the passenger side of the car the fender seems to be more out where as the driver's side (the messed up side) is more inward. The car has never been in a wreck though, so I'm assuming it came like that or something either lose or something?

Anyone else ever had this problem and is there and easy fix? It is really starting to irritate me, cuz the car is in such good condition for still having everything original.

Is the problem area towards the lower part of the door/fender? If so, my guess is that your door hinge bushings are worn out. It's a common problem on GM vehicles, especially older ones. You just need to hit up Napa for some new pins and bushing, should be about $20, probably less than that even. I've never replaced them before even though I've had 2 trucks witht the same problem, but I think it's supposed to be pretty easy. Your driver side is worse because it gets used more.

No, actually the paint came off the center of the door, but I see what your saying that maybe its possibly the bushings...who knows.
